In the third T20I in Harare, India’s Washington Sundar, an all-rounder, had an incredible time against Zimbabwe. Despite conceding 15 runs in his four overs, he took three crucial wickets, including those of Sikandar Raza, Jonathan Campbell, and Clive Madande, enabling the visitors to win by 23 runs.
Washington should feel a lot more confident because he was named Player of the Match. The 24-year-old was never a regular in the Indian squad since Axar Patel and Ravindra Jadeja were chosen by the selectors ahead of him. However, Washington has an opportunity to solidify his spot in the T20I team with Jadeja’s departure from the game’s shortest format.

“I have to do well in my areas of strength and ability, particularly in terms of preparation. I have to give it my all each and every day. When questioned about Jadeja’s open place during the post-game press conference, Washington responded, “That’s something that I have not compromised on.”

In the most recent Indian Premier League, Sunrisers Hyderabad preferred Nitish Reddy over Sundar. With all of that in mind, Washington wants to stay grounded and improve by working hard at his craft. His goal is to increase his consistency, and he believes that when he performs well, other things will follow.
