In the most recent update to the ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, Sri Lankan spinner Wanindu Hasaranga has reclaimed the top spot for bowlers, while India’s Suryakumar Yadav has maintained his status as the best batter. Both of these achievements came as a result of the most recent rankings update.
Wanindu Hasaranga performance against England in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup saw him capture two wickets for 23 runs, bringing his total for the tournament to 15. This allowed him to move ahead of Rashid Khan of Afghanistan, who is also a leg-spinner, in the rankings chart.
According to the information provided by the International Cricket Council (ICC), it is interesting to note that Wanindu Hasaranga took the top rank for the very first time after his exploits in the most recent iteration of this competition held in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Yadav, who has a total of 225 runs in the tournament so far, scored 30 against Bangladesh and a match-winning 61 off of 25 balls against Zimbabwe to add six rating points to his tally and reach a career-best 869 points, which is 39 more than Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan.
