Vice-captain of the Gulbarga Mystics, Vyshak Vijaykumar, is expected to contribute his experience and newly acquired confidence to the campaign as the Maharaja Trophy KSCA T20 draws near. Vyshak said, “Training with Virat Kohli can really impact you as a player,” citing his Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates Mohammed Siraj and Virat Kohli as inspiration. While I respected him last season, I also paid attention to the little things like his consistency, work ethic, and method. Everything is done precisely, even his practicing routine and eating habits.
The 27-year-old fast bowler went on, saying, “I try to have the same confidence every time I step onto the field because it’s admirable how confident he is before every game.”
In addition to being a senior player, Vyshak will dedicate himself to coaching the younger players in the squad by using the guidance he acquired from more experienced players like Mohd. Sirraj “I played well in my first game for RCB, but I gave up 60 runs the next game,” he recounted. “This is the highest level of the game and challenge,” Siraj informed me. He continued, “I’m eager to remember this and to impart these teachings whenever I can.
With the upcoming season rapidly approaching, the speed bowler—who also has a century in first-class cricket—is eager to surpass the difficulties of the previous campaign, in which the Mystics finished third without Devdutt Padikkal. He claimed that “Missing Devdutt made a big difference last season.” “We wanted to end the campaign stronger this year, but we felt that it was lacking something. I’ve been batting well, and we bat deep, so I’m expecting to contribute with the bat as well,” he stated, sounding upbeat about the team’s chances.
Vyshak is eager to collaborate with Padikkal as vice captain despite relinquishing his captaincy.
I enjoy being captain, but with Devdutt’s background and his recent India debut, I’m excited to back him in the vice captain role. I’m optimistic about this year since we truly missed him last season,” he continued.
Vyshak attributes the beginning of his IPL career to the Shriram Capital Maharaja Trophy. He said, emphasising the significance of the competition, “The first season of Maharaja got me noticed and led to my IPL debut, this platform provided by KSCA is exceptional and a huge opportunity for all of us.”
