The Asia Cup 2023 is just around the corner; Pakistan and Sri Lanka will co-host the prestigious event, which is scheduled to start on August 30. Additionally, the Rohit Sharma–led Indian team is working hard to provide their greatest tournament performance as they prepare to depart for Sri Lanka. Notably, India is presently engaged in a training camp in Alur, Karnataka, where the group is hard at work and attempting to enhance their batting performances through a series of punishing drills and match simulations. Several Indian players were recently shown practicing their batting techniques in a video that quickly became popular on social media.
While participating in the exercises, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja were photographed confronting spin bowling and trying to execute smart strokes. On social media, the trending video has been making the rounds.
On September 2, Pakistan will play India.
Speaking of team India’s tasks, on September 2, the group will play its opening match of the Asia Cup 2023 against bitter foe Pakistan. It’s important to note that the match will take place at Kandy’s Pallekele International Cricket Stadium.
India will try to have a good start to the competition, and there is no better way to do so than to win the opening match against Pakistan. Sri Lanka, who won the major competition in 2022 when it was played in the T20 format, will enter the competition as the defending champions. The ODI World Cup is coming up in 2023, hence the tournament will instead be played in that format.
Additionally, the 2023 Asia Cup will serve as useful preparation for the upcoming World Cup, which will be entirely hosted by India and set to start on October 5. On October 8 in Chennai, India’s World Cup campaign gets underway against Australia.
