Before his country’s forthcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli arrived down at Colombo airport on Monday to a warm welcome.
Earlier that day, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Kuldeep Yadav, Harshit Rana, Kohli, and captain Rohit Sharma also touched down. After their final ODI match in November 2023 and following India’s victory in the T20 World Cup 2024, this series represents a big comeback for both Rohit and Kohli to the game of cricket.
The 35-year-old spoke with admirers at the Colombo airport. The cricket player took the time to interact with his fans, exchanging handshakes, smiles, and selfies in spite of the procedures associated with immigration.

In ODIs against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli has smashed ten hundreds.
With his stellar record in One-Day Internationals versus Sri Lanka, Kohli’s presence is highly significant. He is second only to the great Sachin Tendulkar in terms of runs scored versus Sri Lanka in this format with 2,594 runs in 53 matches at an astounding average of 63.26, which includes 10 hundreds and 12 fifties.
For Kohli and Rohit, who want to get back into the swing of things in the 50-over format, the next series is crucial. The rumours about their involvement have been dispelled by their inclusion in the roster of 15 players. Additionally, this series will mark their first appearance in an ODI since they declared their retirement from Twenty20 internationals.
