After the completion of the second and final test match, which took place at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Bangladesh, off-spinner Mehidy Hasan Miraz was presented with a jersey that had been signed by India’s top batter Virat Kohli.
Mehidy Hasan’s final numbers for the match were 6 wickets for 124 runs, including the five-for she took in the second innings of the contest.
After the game, the 25-year-old posted a picture of himself and Virat Kohli together carrying a shirt that had been signed by both of them on social media. He captioned the image with the following: “Special memento from one of the best cricketers of all time, Virat Kohli.”
India triumphed in the second test match by a score of three wickets to take the series and win 2-0.
India needed just 145 to win the match and earn a victory in the series, but in the end, the visitors triumphed by only three wickets in a nail-biting morning’s play on day four in Dhaka. The match was a part of the series that India won.
Since the year 2000, India has won ten of the sides’ previous twelve Test matches, including five triumphs by an innings. There had been two draws in those matches, with the most recent one occurring in 2015.
On Saturday, India bowled Bangladesh out for a score that was below average (231), but the spinners for the home team, Mehidy Hasan and Shakib Al Hasan, brought the visitors’ score down to 45-4 before stumps with 100 more runs to score.
Following KL Rahul’s dismissal for two by Shakib, Mehidy took the wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara, Shubman Gill, and Virat Kohli, all of whom were scoring in the single digits at the time of their dismissals.
When play began on Sunday, Bangladesh had brought India’s score down to 74-7, but Shreyas Iyer (29 not out) and Ravichandran Ashwin (42 not out) put up 71 runs in an unbroken eighth-wicket stand to drive India to victory.
