On the fourth day of the second Test match between India and Bangladesh in Kanpur, Bangladeshi bowler Khaled Ahmed failed to get a regular wicket off of Virat Kohli. With Kohli well behind Khaled in the race, Ahmed had enough of time to remove the stumps as the star Indian batsman gave up, nearly halfway down the crease as he gathered the ball.
Interestingly though, Khaled took a shot and managed to hit the stumps rather than just remove the bails, missing the target at close range in the process. While Kohli had enough time to return to the crease, the Bangladeshi team as a whole was in disbelief. Not long afterward, Rishabh Pant—the non-striker—went on to give Kohli a hug, saying that they were both shocked by Khaled’s lost chance.

Kohli mimicked the same move while fielding in the slips during Bangladesh’s batting innings in the third innings of the match. Upon witnessing Kohli’s impersonation, Pant, Shubman Gill, and KL Rahul burst into giggles. Gill was also observed mimicking Khaled’s ill-advised attempt to strike the stumps.

India led by 52 runs after an innings in which Kohli hit 47 runs. The Indian spinners were outstanding in the second innings, limiting Bangladesh to a just 146 runs. While Akash Deep took one wicket, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin each took three.
In the last innings, India was asked to chase just 95 runs, and they accomplished it with remarkable ease. Although Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill scored eight and six runs, respectively, they were unable to get the ball rolling and the hosts never appeared to be in danger. Thanks for the same to Yashasvi Jaiswal, who once again had a stunning appearance.

The youthful player, who scored 51 runs off 45 balls, forged an important alliance with Kohli, who finished undefeated on 29 runs. India went on to win the match and the series 2-0, eventually taking seven wickets. They will next take on the Bangla Tigers in a three-match Twenty20 International series.
