The Indian team won their fourth straight match in the coveted ODI World Cup 2023, defeating Bangladesh on Thursday, October 19 in Pune, as they maintained their impressive run of form. One of the major highlights of the game as it went on was when star batsman Virat Kohli scored a century and accomplished yet another milestone. The 34-year-old contributed to India’s victory by seven wickets by scoring 103* runs in 97 deliveries.
However, as Virat Kohli neared his century, he stopped a lot of singles and maintained the strike, which allowed him to score a ton of runs.
Fans and critics expressed their disapproval of the same, and in the thick of the disapproval, former Indian cricketer Kris Srikkanth stole the spotlight and defended the 34-year-old.
Kris Srikkanth took to X and asked, “What is wrong with what Virat did? I wonder why people don’t grasp how important it is to score a century in a world cup. @imVkohli deserves this and much more! Congratulations to a team player like @klrahul who earned it against Australia in Chennai! Enjoy while you can with #INDvsBAN.
