On Tuesday, June 11, Virat Kohli and Indra Nooyi, two celebrities from diverse industries, attended a function held by the Indian embassy in New York. On June 12, India and the USA will play in international cricket for the first time. India, ranked first in Group A of the 2024 T20 World Cup, will try to secure a Super Eight berth with a victory at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
The Indian consulate in New York received Team India prior to the eagerly awaited match. The former CEO of PepsiCo, Indra Nooyi, was one of the other prominent attendees at the event in New York City.
Social media users are loving this picture of the former captain of India, Virat Kohli, seated next to the well-known Indian businessman. On the picture, a user from ‘X’ said, “My two heroes,” emphasising the outstanding contributions that Kohli and Nooyi had made to their respective fields.

Vice President Rajeev Shukla, Secretary Jay Shah, and President Roger Binny of the BCCI also attended the occasion with their presence. Leading figures from the Indian diaspora from a variety of backgrounds were met by players and head coach Rahul Dravid.

The Indian consulate in New York shared pictures from the reception on its official X handle, writing, “Cheering for Team India to go back home with the T20 World Cup.”

Prior to joining his teammates for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024, Kohli took a little holiday after concluding the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 as the league’s top run scorer. India’s lone warm-up match against Bangladesh was missed by him.
The opening combination of Delhi batsman and captain Rohit Sharma did not go well for India in the opening match against Ireland. For starters, Kohli was dismissed cheaply. In the subsequent match against Pakistan, he was much less successful, scoring just four runs. Against a confident USA team on Wednesday, the renowned cricketer will like to get back among the runs.
