A crucial assignment with the 2024 T20 World Cup approaching is India’s three-match home T20I series versus Afghanistan. Before the major event, India’s final T20I assignment is this one. Virat Kohli, the star batsman, and regular captain Rohit Sharma have been brought back to the team for this series against the Blue Tigers. However, as the crucial T20 World Cup approaches, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) selection committee has turned to seasoned players like Rohit and Kohli. Legendary batsman AB de Villiers of South Africa, however, supports the decision to bring back Rohit and Kohli, saying that younger players will recognize the worth of the two seniors.

It doesn’t matter to me if he is handling his career because of his age. Twentysomethings are going to understand that India needs players like Virat and Rohit to win the T20 World Cup. AB de Villiers posted on his own YouTube channel, “I wish I had that management when I was 35.”
“By including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in their T20I team, I believe India has demonstrated their intent. They’re obviously considering the T20 World Cup, the 39-year-old continued.
On Thursday, January 11, at the Punjab Cricket Association’s IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali, India and Afghanistan will play their first Twenty20 international.
