In order to get to the IPL 2024 final, KKR destroyed Sunrisers Hyderabad and won by eight wickets at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. However, on Wednesday, May 22, Rajasthan Royals will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru; the victor of that game will go to Qualifier 2 and face Hyderabad. The other finalist in the lucrative league will ultimately be the winner of that match.
Notably, Bengaluru had lost seven of their first eight IPL 2024 games before mounting an incredible turnaround to win six straight and secure a postseason spot. The Faf du Plessis-led team will start as favorites against Rajasthan in the Eliminator, especially because the Royals have lost their last five games. Meanwhile, RCB will once again qualify for the final and play KKR on May 26 at Chepauk if they overcome RR and SRH in their next two games.
Surprisingly, former cricket player Varun Aaron thinks the KKRs should do everything in their power to avoid the RCB.
He pointed out that RCB had a lot of momentum and that if they made it to the championship game, the players would be very dangerous since they would think they had the trophy all to themselves.
“They (KKR) are going to be the favorite on paper, no doubt. Of course, the outcome is determined that day. Whether your team is the greatest or the worst makes no difference. KKR has the momentum, therefore I doubt they would desire RCB. Aaron told ESPNCricinfo that if RCB makes it to the championship, they would feel like they deserve the trophy and that no one can stop them.

In the meantime, KKR has already won twice against RCB this season, with the most recent victory coming by a mere run. Flamboyant all-rounder Andre Russell said that the players are prepared for the task and are not concerned about any squad when discussing their ideal opponent in the championship game.
