In the ongoing Twenty20 World Cup, the USA surprised Pakistan by defeating them at Dallas’ Grand Prairie Stadium. The Monank Patel-led team was excellent with the bat and ball, winning a crucial match that increased their prospects of qualifying for the Super 8. The visitors struggled to get going as they batted first, losing three wickets in the powerplay before eventually scoring 159 runs.
The USA batting lineup responded well, with captain Monank scoring 50 runs off of 38 balls. When the USA blew their opportunity to win in 40 overs and the game went into super overs, things got a little messy. Pakistani pacer Muhammad Amir conceded eighteen runs in the Super Over, including several extras. Pakistan suffered their first tournament defeat as a result of their inability to overcome that.
In his analysis of Pakistan’s performance in the Super Over, former cricketer Yuvraj Singh pointed out that the Men in Green committed an error by allowing Fakhar Zaman to take the wicket against Saurabh Netravalkar, a left-arm bowler. He continued by noting that Pakistan is currently in a difficult situation and that, in order to stay in the Super 8 race, they must defeat India on June 9 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium.

However, credit must be given to #TeamUSA @usacricket, particularly to skipper Monank Patel, for his poised decision-making under duress. Pakistan now has to defeat India, and they must improve in both the batting and fielding departments. Yuvraj was written on X (previously Twitter).
I don’t understand why dint @FakharZamanLive take strike to a lefty seamer – when it is easier for a left hander to hit through the angle that bowler is tryin to create
Nonetheless have to give it #TeamUSA @usacricket for making smart decisions under pressure specially the…

After the loss, skipper Babar was also unhappy. The 29-year-old thinks that the hitters and bowlers both underperformed in the opening six overs, with the bowlers failing to execute their jobs. In addition to drawing harsh criticism from both critics and supporters, the captain himself scored 44 runs off 43 deliveries.
