The USA team for the 2024 T20 World Cup has inducted former New Zealand cricketer Corey Anderson. He competed for New Zealand in the 2015 ODI World Cup and the 2014 and 2016 T20 World Cups. The West Indies and the United States of America are co-hosting the competition. The USA team has named Anderson to its squad of fifteen players. Along with him, Ali Khan has been added to the team despite not having participated in a T20I match since July 2022. They’ve also brought in Shayan Jahangir.
The roster for the next two games will include two new players: Gajanand Singh and Usman Rafiq. There won’t be many changes to the lineup that defeated Canada 4-0 in a five-match T20I series in April. As captain and vice-captain, respectively, Monank Patel and Aaron Jones have not changed roles. Rafiq conceded 24 runs in two overs in his lone game during the previous series, while Gajanand managed just one run in two games.
USA lineup for the T20 World Cup does not include Unmukt Chand
Unmukt Chand was left off the roster for the April T20I series against Canada, despite being the former captain of India’s Under-19 cricket team. His prospects of making it to the T20 World Cup were cast doubt after he was left out of the squad. Sadly, Chand is no longer a member of the squad. After being left out of the Canada series, he had earlier voiced his unhappiness and demanded a change.
