Umran Malik, a fast bowler for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), said that he hasn’t had many chances to play in the IPL 2023 so far. Notably, the orange team is at the bottom of the IPL Points Table, so they will be trying their hardest to win their last match against the Mumbai Indians (MI).
Umran Malik, who is fast, has been one of the players who hasn’t had many chances during the middle of the season. Most of the time, Umran Malik sat on the bench, but he said he worked hard even though he wasn’t in the starting lineup before the game against the five-time winners.
“I played in every game and bowled every over last year. This time I only bowled 5 overs and only got 5 catches. I was always working hard when I wasn’t playing. Hindustan Times reported that Umran Malik said, “I hope to do better today (against MI).”
For those who don’t know, captain Aiden Markram said something strange about the pacer being left out of the team after the match against RCB on May 18. This got a lot of attention.
“To be honest, I’m not sure about Umran. Markram said after the game, “He’s a player with a lot of X factor. He bowls at 150kph, but I don’t really know what’s going on behind the scenes. He does have a lot of X factor, though.”
Umran replied to Markram’s comments in a subtle way by making a simple comment about his speed, saying that he would need a few overs to come out swinging.
Umran Malik has only played in eight matches so far, and he has only taken five wickets at a terrible average economy of 10.35.
“I don’t think it slows me down. If I only bowl two overs, I need some more time to warm up my batteries and get my pace up. I am trying to bowl the right lines quickly and in different ways. I try to get wickets when the team needs them. If not, I try to stop the number of runs,” he said.
