The 33rd match of the ongoing ICC Under-19 World Cup 2024 took place on Friday, February 2, at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein between the U-19 sides of India and Nepal.
The young Indian hitter and captain, Uday Saharan, celebrated his century in a distinctive way during a memorable moment of the game. In a video that ICC sent to social media, an other Indian player questions him about the festivities, saying,
“Uday Saharan, today you had a great celebration, and everyone wants to know its meaning.
” Uday Saharan responded, “It’s a celebration in honor of Israel Adesanya, a UFC fighter. I followed suit after witnessing him, since he did it following his championship win.”

Israel Adesanya: Who is she?
Israel Adesanya, a talented mixed martial artist, kickboxer, and former boxer, was born in New Zealand on July 22, 1989. He has won the middleweight belt twice in his time as a competitor in the UFC. He has also competed for the Glory Middleweight Championship in kickboxing. Adesanya is currently ranked tenth in the men’s pound-for-pound rankings and second in the UFC middleweight rankings as of January 23, 2024. He is a well-known character in the combat sports industry thanks to his skills and accomplishments.
In the game, the Indian side decided to bat first after winning the toss. The Indian side struggled in batting and ended up with a score of 62 for three in the fourteenth over. At that point, captain Saharan and Sachin Dhas entered the game and formed an amazing combination, contributing 215 runs to enable India to reach a challenging total of 297 for five. Dhas hit 116 off of 101 balls, while Sharan scored 100 off of 107.
After Nepal was out by just 165 runs, India won the chase by 132 runs. With four wickets, Saumy Pandey was India’s most effective bowler. Arshin Kulkarni chipped in with two wickets.
