Australia’s Travis Head, the top-ranked T20 hitter in the world, has re-signed with the Adelaide Strikers, a Big Bash League (BBL) team, ahead of the BBL 14. Head has extended his contract with Strikers by another year, marking his 13th consecutive season there.
Although the Australian opener recently cemented his position as the top T20 batter in the world during the UK tour, it is important to note that Head will not be available until the end of the regular season because of Test commitments with Australia.
Head’s availability for Strikers may depend on how much work he does for Australia over the five-game series as they prepare for the forthcoming Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It’s interesting to note that Strikers will play three regular season games following the BGT 2024–25.
Australia is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka for a two-Test series in February, so it is presently unknown if the Test players would be available on the BBL during the tournament’s final rounds.
