On Monday, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma shared the news that production of her upcoming film, “Chakda Express,” which is inspired by the life of former India pacer Jhulan Goswami, had come to a close.
In honour of the event, Anushka Sharma and the rest of her crew were surprised on set by the appearance of a very special guest: Jhulan herself arrived to help them celebrate the day.
Anushka Shetty posted a series of images to her Instagram account in which the former captain of India can be seen chopping up a cake alongside the actor and applauding after the completion of the film’s last take.
Jhulan played her final international match earlier in September. It was a victory for India Women over England Women that allowed them to win the one-day international series without dropping a single game.
Jhulan announced her retirement from cricket after participating in 12 tests, 204 one-day internationals, and 68 Twenty20 internationals for the Indian women’s side. She finished her career with 255 one-day international wickets, the most ever taken by a woman playing one-day cricket. Her final outing saw her collect two wickets, bringing her total to 255 overall.
“To all of my cricket relatives and friends, and beyond. It seems that the time has come at last! My cricket career, which spanned over 20 years, comes to a close today as I announce my retirement from all formats of the game. Just as every journey must come to an end, so must mine.
According to a quote attributed to Ernest Hemingway, “It is wonderful to have an end to journey toward; but in the end, it is the journey that matters.”
This travel has provided me with the greatest sense of accomplishment. It has been an incredible, fascinating, and daring experience to say the least. Over the course of my career, which spans well over two decades, I’ve had the privilege of donning the India jersey and giving my all to serve my country.
When I am at a sporting event and the national anthem is played before the game, I am filled with a sense of pride “Jhulan mentioned in her retirement statement that she will be leaving Twitter.
Regarding the film ‘Chakda Express,’ it is based on the life of Jhulan Goswami and was directed by Prosit Roy. Anushka Sharma and her brother Karnesh Ssharma of Clean Slate Filmz were the producers of the film.
