In the third match of the Duleep Trophy 2024, India A faced India D at the Rural Development Trust Stadium in Anantapur. After winning the toss, India D chose to bowl. In the first innings, they restricted India A to a total of 290 runs and only managed to score 183 runs in reply. Minutes after Tea on Day 3, India A declared after mounting a strong comeback in the second innings and setting a massive target of 383/3.
With their respective tonnes, Tilak Varma and Pratham Singh were the main drivers of India A’s lead surge. In a 104-run partnership with Pratham for the second wicket, he hit nine boundaries. Shashwat Rawat provided strong support for the southpaw, scoring 64* off 88 deliveries and spotting seven boundaries.
Consequently, India D now face a challenging 488-run target

However, Atharva Taide gave India D an early advantage. In the third over, Khaleel Ahmed dismissed the southpaw with the first ball. Sanju Samson, Devdutt Padikkal, and Shreyas Iyer now have the responsibility of steering the ship.
Six wickets lost by India B under 250
In a different match, the India C batsmen came in at regular intervals to help the side reach a massive first-inning target of 525 runs. With 111, Ishan Kishan shone brightly, while Manav Suthar and Indrajith chipped in with 78 and 82, respectively. Abhimanyu Easwaran, the captain of India B, was the only player keeping score as other batters gave up under duress, trailing the substantial total.

After scoring a century, Easwaran is still unbeaten at bat, while Narayan Jagadeesan’s final century-scoring exit was also notable.
