With KL Rahul, KS Bharat, and Dhruv Jurel in the squad, there were a lot of debates about who will play first for India versus England. Rahul Dravid, the team’s head coach, spoke out to resolve the issue.
A five-game Test series between Team India and England is scheduled to start on January 25. There has been much talk over who will be India’s wicketkeeper for the series against India, as the first Test is quickly approaching at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad.
Rahul would not be wearing the gloves for the team against England, despite his opinion that he performed an excellent job maintaining wicket against South Africa. According to his opinion, the choice will be made between the two alternative possibilities that the side has chosen.
Given the circumstances and length of the series, KL Rahul will not serve as wicketkeeper against England in the Test series. But with five Test matches (against England) and these conditions, our two remaining keepers will be chosen, Dravid stated during the news conference.

Rahul Dravid further provided an explanation for the choice, stating that the team wanted to select a specialist stumper for the England series and that the Indian wickets allow the spinners to have greater turn.
“The nature of pitches in India makes it mandatory for a wicketkeeper to stand up to the wickets against spinners, in this case, R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, a role that should be assigned to a specialist stumper,” Dravid stated.
Relieving Rahul of the stumps will allow him to concentrate only on his batting and help the Indian squad score large runs against England.
