The sentence begins, “With All Due Respect To Rahul…” This Former India Cricketer Is Someone That Harbhajan Singh Wants To Coach The T20I Team

According to Harbhajan Singh, someone like Ashish Nehra should be a part of India’s Twenty20 coaching structure because he is familiar with the shortest format, possibly even better than Rahul Dravid, who is currently the head coach.

Nehra announced his retirement from the sport in 2017, and earlier this year he led the Gujarat Titans to victory in the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. “You could use someone like Ashish Nehra, who just left the game recently, in the T20 format of the game.

With all due respect to Rahul, we have played together for such a long time, he has a large knowledge base, but this is a challenging format. He is more knowledgeable about it than Rahul is.

“In T20s, the position of coach should ideally go to someone who has been active in the game within the past several years. I am not suggesting that you take Rahul out of the T20 match. Ashish and Rahul have the potential to collaborate in order to construct a winning team for the World Cup in 2024 “Harbhajan told PTI.

The spin ace is a member of the Delhi Bulls team that is competing in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

The issue about divided coaching and selecting different players for different formats has become more heated as a result of England’s victory in the Twenty20 World Cup.

“With such an arrangement, it is easy for Rahul as well, who can take a break as well like he did for the New Zealand tour, and Ashish can handle the job in his absence,” he said. “With such an arrangement, it is easy for Rahul to take a break as well like he did for the New Zealand tour.”

When asked about different players for the various forms, Harbhajan Singh provided the following additional information: “That is not a problem. That seems to be working for me.” Whether or if the current top three, Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli, continue their careers till the 2024 World Cup, the 42-year-old believes the Indian team’s strategy needs to shift in order to remain competitive.

“In the Twenty20 format, the strategy needs to be altered. The first six overs of the game are quite crucial. In the event that this does not occur, you will have to rely on Hardik or Surya to score 50 runs off of 20. In the event that they are unsuccessful, your final score will be below par.

“Since England altered their strategy, the country has gone on to win two World Cups. T20 must be played in the same manner as T20, and not like ODIs “said the participant in 103 previous tests.

India played a younger top-three in their match against New Zealand because they were missing some of their more experienced players.

“Increasing their strike rates is all that the top three batsmen (Rohit, Virat, and KL) need to accomplish. It is challenging to try to make 180 when you are batting at 110 or 120 strikes per hour. They must average at least nine runs per over during the first ten to twelve overs of the innings.”

Is it possible that Kohli and Rohit would stick with the shorter format of the game?

“There is no way for me to know whether or not they would be interested in playing. They are talented players, and if there is a different way to go about things, there should be no reason they can’t stay in shape. Players can’t be switched out overnight; instead, we need to adjust our strategy “remarked the former player for India.

Harbhajan Singh stated that after Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya should lead India in Twenty20 matches as captain. “Hardik is the best choice in that situation,” if it does occur.

Harbhajan expressed his enthusiasm about participating in the Abu Dhabi T10 competition by stating that he is happy to be a part of the league.

“I cannot contain my enthusiasm. I have no idea how many different games I will participate in. In comparison to T20s, this format is both more efficient and more enjoyable. It is an expedient format that is beneficial to the spectators. Moving forward, it has the potential to become a very significant development.”
