The senior players’ success in the T20 World Cup 2024 and their excellent brand of cricket were praised by former India head coach Rahul Dravid. Indian captain Rohit Sharma set a wonderful example at the World Cup, while superstar batsman Virat Kohli performed brilliantly to help India defeat South Africa by seven runs on the final day of play. Jasprit Bumrah was India’s greatest ball-winner with the ball during his incredible performance.
Speaking candidly about the victory, Dravid praised the veteran players for their contributions. Additionally, he praised Rohit for being a superb leader. Under his leadership, the Men in Blue advanced to the 2022 T20 World Cup semifinals, the World Test Championship championship final, and the ODI World Cup. The 51-year-old said that it made a difference that the other cricket players tended to come towards him.
“I don’t think I can claim all the glory for that. The captains and other senior players, in my opinion, are the team’s leaders. Working with Rohit was an honour. I think he did a great job leading during these two and a half years. “I think that makes a big difference, because people really gravitated towards him,” Dravid stated in a Star Sports video.
Some wise words from the wise man! 👏🏻

I believe that these superstars have a modest approach to preparation and work ethic: Rahul Dravid
Dravid said that the Indian team’s superstars are genuinely modest, which is why the team succeeded, in response to a question concerning his managerial abilities and how he handled both positive and negative egos in the locker room. He gave the 37-year-old R Ashwin as an example, noting that the veteran is still keen to learn and improve.

The fact that many Indian cricket players are celebrities leads some people to believe that they are tough to control and have large egos. Conversely, though, in my opinion. These athletes, in my opinion, are exceptional since they have a modest preparation and work ethic. You may observe it in Ashwin right now. He is still open to learning and adapting despite his age. This is but one instance, Dravid stated.
