On March 9, 2023, the Sri Lanka tour of New Zealand is scheduled to get underway. The Test series, which will be held in New Zealand, will be a part of the ICC World Test Championship 2021–2023 cycle. The tour will end on April 8, 2023, and will be followed by a three-match ODI series and three T20I matches.
In July 2022, Pakistan was the opponent in the Lankan Lions’ most recent Test series, which consisted of two games. After Sri Lanka defeated Pakistan by a whopping 246 runs in the second and decisive match of the series, the series concluded in a 1-1 draw after Pakistan won the first game.
In addition, New Zealand last faced Pakistan in a Test series in December 2022–January 2023. Both teams made a tremendous effort during the two-match Test series but were unable to win any of the games, which likewise finished in a tie. The Black Caps’ two-match Test series against England, which is set to start on February 16, will come before they face Sri Lanka.
The most recent ODI series versus India was defeated
There has been a decline in both Sri Lanka’s and by both teams.New Zealand’s forms. It’s interesting to note that both teams will start the ODI series having lost to the Indian team in their previous international match. In a three-match ODI series against India in January, the Islanders were unable to win a single game as the Men in Blue overwhelmed them.
Additionally, New Zealand played India in the latter part of January 2023, losing every single game of the ODI series. When the ODI series between the Black Caps and the Lankan Lions begins in March 2023, both teams will be aiming to shake things up and win the series.
