According to an announcement made by Nepal’s cricket board on Thursday, former India all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar resigned from his position as the head coach of the Nepal cricket team after serving in that capacity for four months.
Prabhakar, who is 59 years old and played in 39 tests between 1984 and 1995, was appointed to the position in August. During his career, he took 96 wickets and scored 1600 runs.
Additionally, he had participated in 130 One-Day Internationals (ODIs), in which he had taken 157 wickets.
The announcement was made on the official Twitter feed of the Cricket Association of Nepal. It read, “Mr. Manoj Prabhakar has stood down from his post as Head Coach of the Nepal Men’s National Cricket Team with immediate effect on the 15th December 2022.”
The CAN has acknowledged and accepted his resignation, and we wish him the best of luck in the future.” Only five Twenty20 Internationals and seven One-Day Internationals, including four matches in the World Cup Super League 2, were played with Prabhakar in charge of the Nepal men’s national side.
Under his leadership, Nepal enjoyed a fruitful tour of Kenya, prevailing in a five-match T20I series by a score of 3-2 and then dominating in the ODIs by a score of 3-0. Additionally, Nepal defeated UAE in a home one-day international series by a score of 2-1 last month.
