Mohammad Rizwan’s antics behind the stumps were the target of a light-hearted jab from veteran Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary. Rizwan is another of the many animated characters that are renowned to be wicketkeepers, especially when they are wearing the gloves.
In contemporary cricket, the wicketkeeper from Pakistan is among the top batsmen for the Men in Green. Additionally, he is capable of making breathtaking catches behind the stumps. But his tendency to appeal too frequently has also earned criticism from cricket fans and grabbed their attention.
Regarding Rizwan’s propensity to occasionally appeal during the matches, Anil Chaudhary was recently questioned.
Because of the Peshawar native’s charming style, the 59-year-old likened him to a pigeon. When asked if he has umpired in games where Rizwan was playing, Chaudhary responded, “Yes, I have officiated in the Asia Cup,” in an interview posted on the 2 Sloggers YouTube channel.
“Let him continue making appeals. I forewarned the other umpire about his persistent appeals. Keep your eyes open. He informed me, “I remembered, you told him to stay aware it (Rizwan’s appeals).” There was a tight appeal, and he was about to hand it out. At some point, it remained undiscovered. He keeps making an appeal for every ball. Is he not the man who applies, like, a lipstick (cream)? He’s always flapping about like a pigeon,” Chaudhary remarked.

Meanwhile, in Rawalpindi, Pakistan and Bangladesh are currently playing their first Test match. Rizwan scored an incredible century. When the hosts were struggling at 114/4 in the first innings, the 32-year-old came out to bat. But in his undefeated 171 off 239 balls, he hammered 11 fours and three sixes, displaying outstanding tenacity and commitment.
