The demand to allow Indian players to compete in foreign leagues is made by Sunil Gavaskar, who says they “want their leagues to have more sponsorship.”

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of the Indian cricket team, has commented on the subject of the lack of availability of Indian players in leagues outside of India.

The phenomenon of franchise Twenty20 leagues is one that is now expanding all throughout the world of cricket. Following the success of the T20 franchise model in countries such as India, Australia, and England, other nations such as South Africa and the United Arab Emirates have implemented their very own T20 franchise leagues. The majority of the clubs in both competitions are controlled by the owners of IPL franchises. As a result of the proliferation of cricket franchises, players from all over the world are being given the opportunity to compete in a number of different Twenty20 competitions that pay well. On the other hand, active Indian players have not been granted permission to compete in any of the overseas leagues up to this point.

Sunil Gavaskar, a former captain of the Indian cricket team, recently wrote a column for Sportstar in which he addressed the issue of the lack of availability of Indian players in leagues outside of India.

“Former players from other countries have voiced their opinion that current Indian players should be permitted to compete in the Big Bash or the Hundred. In a nutshell, they desire for their leagues to receive more sponsorship and the like. They are worried about their cricket, which is a perfectly reasonable concern on their part “Gavaskar wrote.

“However, when Indian cricket seeks to safeguard its game by ensuring that their players stay fresh for their matches and, as a result, prohibiting them from playing overseas, the players from the “old powers” find this to be unacceptable. They are just talking about the Indian players being made available for their country’s leagues, not the support staff or other individuals who, as the cricketing world has discovered over the past half dozen or so years, are also capable of doing an excellent job.”

He also mentioned that Indian players might be given permission to compete in overseas tournaments, particularly in the UAE and South African T20 leagues. This is due to the fact that the majority of the teams in those leagues are owned by Indian businesses.

“The cap on what the players can earn and the small change as prize money makes the higher fees and better prize money at the UAE and South African leagues a more tempting prospect,” he said. “The cap on what the players can earn and the small change as prize money.”

“Because the majority of the clubs in these two new leagues are franchises that also compete in the Indian Premier League (IPL), the media in the so-called “old powers” have begun pointing the finger of blame at the IPL. Although the Board of Control for Cricket in India is not affiliated with these competitions in any way, it is possible that certain Indian players will be allowed to participate in them. It goes without saying that India will be participating in international matches during this time, and the most talented players in Indian cricket will be playing for India rather than in these competitions because they have a higher priority. However, their franchises may want them to play the occasional game if there is a break between the international matches in which they are participating.”
