The CEO of CSK has revealed how Dhoni reacted when Stokes was selected for Rs 16.25 crore

Ben Stokes, a great all-rounder for England, was up for grabs in the Indian Premier League auction 2023 on Friday, and the Chennai Super Kings won the bidding war and purchased him for the staggering price of Rs 16.25 crore.

Ben Stokes surpassed the previous record set by Chris Morris and moved into a tie for third place in terms of player price in the annals of the Indian Premier League auction.

During this time, Stokes became CSK’s most expensive buy in an IPL auction, surpassing Deepak Chahar’s previous record.

There were a number of teams who were interested in signing the player, including Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Sunrisers Hyderabad, and Lucknow Super Giants; however, it was CSK that was successful in signing the famous England all-rounder.

CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan stated that Dhoni was “extremely satisfied” with the agreement after the side signed Ben Stokes. This came after the side bought Ben Stokes.

However, that was not the end as Cameron Green also moved past Morris after garnering a significant lot of money from Mumbai Indians at the auction on Friday. This brought the total amount of money Cameron Green brought in to Rs 17.50.
