The batter for South Africa leaves the ball, and the error in judgement proves to be costly

During South Africa’s practise match versus England Lions, Khaya Zondo was bowled while attempting to leave a delivery outside off-stump.

In preparation for their upcoming three-match Test series against England, which will begin on August 17, South Africa are currently participating in a warm-up match against England Lions. South Africa triumphed in the coin toss and elected to bat first in the match that lasted four days. The performance of South Africa’s Khaya Zondo, who batted seventh and contributed an important 86 runs, was quite impressive. On the other hand, he made a significant error in judgement that ended up costing him his wicket. The ball pitched just outside off when it was angled in by the pacer Sam Cook early in Day 2 of the contest. Zondo looked to leave the ball, but it kept coming in with the angle and hit the off-stump. Zondo’s attempt to leave the ball was unsuccessful.

Zondo ended with the highest score for South Africa, which was 86. In addition, Rassie van der Dussen played an excellent knock and scored 75.

After that, down the order, Kyle Verreyne (62) and Marco Jansen (56), supplied impetus, which assisted South Africa in posting a total of 433.

While this was going on, Craig Overton concluded with a five-wicket haul, giving him final statistics of 5/74.

The England Lions ended Day 2 with a score of 279/3. Dan Lawrence came very close to scoring a century, but Duanne Olivier ended his innings by dismissing him for 97.

On a score of 64, Harry Brook was undefeated.

There will be a total of three tests played between South Africa and England, each of which will be significant in terms of the standings for the World Test Championship. South Africa is now in first place, while England is in seventh place in the table.

A total of three One-Day Internationals and three Twenty20 Internationals took place between the two teams before the start of the Test series.

The One-Day International (ODI) series was tied 1-1 when the last match was washed out. The Twenty20 International series was won by South Africa, 2-1.
