Nearly thirty years have passed since the marriage of former Indian cricket player Sachin Tendulkar and his spouse Anjali. Recently, Anjali’s mother, Annabelle Mehta, spoke up about how, at the age of barely 19, Sachin sought Anjali for her hand in marriage. Interestingly, Anjali is six years older than Sachin, but both have insisted that their relationship has never been influenced by their ages.
It is important to note that Anjali Tendulkar mother talked candidly about those years in her most recent memoir, “My Passage to India,” on the 1950s family move from England to India.
By that point, I recognised Sachin was the most promising player in the Indian cricket system, but I was worried that, like many of his peers, he might turn into a playboy. In the 1990s, Sachin was comparable to David Beckham in England. I had to ask him directly how he felt about my baby,” Annabelle wrote, according to NDTV.
She also disclosed Sachin’s response, to which the boy promptly replied that he want to wed her daughter. She added that his response slightly caught her off guard.
His exact words were, ‘We want to get married.'” It shocked me. It had always been my dream for Anjali to wed a tall, dark, and attractive man. Sachin was dark and good-looking. He was still a boy, though, at nineteen. And very little. Merely less than five feet and five inches taller than Anjali.

Annabelle said, “Sacin’s bouncy hair probably gives him an extra inch, but not enough for Anjali to wear the high heels she had always loved.” Notably, Sachin did not get married to Anjali until he was 22 years old, despite having stated that he would like to do so when he was just 19.
