On Thursday, the All-India Women Selection Committee chose the teams that would compete in the upcoming Senior Women T20 Challenger Trophy. This competition will take place at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium in Raipur.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India is responsible for organising the Senior Women’s Challenger Trophy, which is a domestic competition for women’s cricket (BCCI). The event has been a fifty-over competition ever since it was first played in the 2008-2009 season.
In the first season, India A, India B, and India Senior competed against one another for the trophy. India B emerged victorious in that competition.
Then, beginning with the subsequent seasons, the teams’ names were changed to India Blue, India Red, and India Green respectively. The most successful team is India Blue, which has five championships to its name.
During the 2021-22 season, the tournament included competition from four different teams with the names India A, B, C, and D. India A is the team that currently holds the title of champion.
