1st T20I vs India and Bangladesh moved to Dharamsala to Gwalior

The locations of the first and second T20I of England’s India trip in January 2025 have been switched, as has the first Twenty20 Internationals between India and Bangladesh, which was originally scheduled to take place on October 6 in Dharamsala. The match will take place in two different locations: Eden Gardens in Kolkata and MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. Still, the dates of the meetings don’t alter.

The site change was required “following a request from Kolkata Police to the Cricket Association of Bengal regarding their prior Republic Day commitments and obligations,” according to a release issued by the BCCI on August 13. At first, Kolkata was supposed to host the first Twenty20 International on January 25 and Chennai on January 22.

The board verified that the reason for the change in the Bangladesh series schedule—from Dharamsala to Gwalior—was “upgrades and renovation work being carried out by the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association in the dressing rooms.”

The first match of the India-Bangladesh T20I series will take place at the recently constructed Shrimant Madhavrao Scindia Cricket.

It will also be the first in the history of Madhya Pradesh since Sachin Tendulkar‘s historic ODI double hundred against South Africa in 2010.

India is scheduled to begin a five-month-long home schedule that includes three One-Day Internationals, eight Twenty20 Internationals, and five Test matches. The season starts on September 19 and runs until October 12 with three Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) and a two-Test series against Bangladesh. They play three Test matches against New Zealand from October 16 to November 5 at home before going to Australia for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, a five-test series that begins on November 22 and ends on January 7.

India’s domestic cricket schedule will resume on January 22 and will consist of three One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and a five-T20I series versus England. There are just three 50-over matches scheduled against England until Pakistan hosts the 2025 Champions Trophy.
