West Indies (WI) and the United States of America (USA) will square off in the sixth game of the Super Eights stage of the current T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday, June 22 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados. This match is expected to feature a confrontation between the co-hosts.
Although they lost the championship to begin with, the defending champs have performed admirably thus far. The Rovman Powell-led team lost their opening Super Eight match against England, unable to hold on to their 180-run total as English batsmen, headed by Jonny Bairstow and Phil Salt, overcame Caribbean spinners to achieve the goal with eight wickets remaining. Since the start of the season, England’s bowling attack has been doing admirably.

The USA is seen as the underdog in the main event, though. Out of the five games played, they have won two and lost one. The American team lost by 18 runs while attempting to chase a target of 195 runs in their prior Super Eight matchups versus South Africa. The Americans have checked all the boxes, but they still have a difficult match against the co-hosts, the West Indies, and both teams will be cautious of the obstacles they face.
