December 7, 2023, Surat: In response to an incident that happened on the field during the Gujarat Giants vs. India Capitals game on December 6 at Lalbhai Contractor Stadium, Surat, and the conversations that followed on social media, Legends League Cricket has made it clear that they will uphold the spirit of the game both on and off the field. The incident that has been making headlines in the cricket world breaches the code of conduct, and those who have broken the very clear guidelines set down by the league’s Code of Conduct and Ethics Committee will face the consequences.
In an effort to preserve the values of sportsmanship and cricket, Legends League Cricket will look into the infraction of the code of conduct internally. There will be severe consequences for any misconduct that has happened on or off the field, including on social media. The players who cause discredit to the league, the spirit of the game, or the teams they represent shall face consequences, as stipulated in the code of conduct. We remain steadfast in our commitment to bringing cricket to as many fans as possible around the country and the globe.
The head of Legends League Cricket’s code of conduct and ethics committee, Syed Kirmani, stated.
“All Legends League cricket players are subject to specific rules regarding misconduct, and the Code of Conduct and Ethics Committee’s established norms of conduct shall govern the required actions that are taken. In response to the contract violation, we are taking the proper steps. Mr. Raman Raheja, CEO of Legends League Cricket, reported.
Unfortunately, for a short period of time, the incident that is making the rounds on social media diverts attention from what has been a very thrilling season thus far, including both national and international legends playing together for their respective teams. Legends League Cricket intends to stay focused on the league itself, leaving the internal investigation and any subsequent action involving the involved individual or individuals—who may be found in violation of the code of conduct for their remarks, including those made on social media—to be handled by the ASCU and Code of Conduct and Ethics Committee.
