Following the weekly update on July 11, India captain Harmanpreet Kaur has reclaimed a spot in the top 10 in the Women’s T20I Batting Rankings, while New Zealand star Suzie Bates has reclaimed a spot in the top five.
With scores of 44 and 52 helping her team take a 2-0 lead in their three-match series in Sri Lanka, Bates, a formerly top-ranked batter, has climbed three spots to take over fifth place. Harmanpreet Kaur has climbed four spots to tenth place thanks to her game-winning 54 not out off 35 balls in the first T20I of their three-match series in Bangladesh.
The West Indies captain Hayley Matthews is a notable gainer in the most recent update, which also takes into account performances in the second and third games of the England-Australia series as well as in all three games of the West Indies versus Ireland series. Matthews was named “player of the series” for her contributions with both the bat and the ball.
With scores of 37, 50, and 48, Matthews has risen five spots to take over the 17th spot in the batters’ standings, while her eight series-high wickets have moved her up three spots to the seventh spot in the bowlers’ standings.
She has also reached a career high of 422 rating points on the all-rounders list, but she is still ranked second behind Ashleigh Gardner of Australia, who has 435 rating points. Prior to October 2017, when he first gained the top spot, Matthews was the best all-arounder.
Amelia Kerr of New Zealand is another successful all-arounder. She moved up three spots to 11th among bowlers after collecting two wickets in the first game, moving up two spots to 15th among batsmen following scores of 34 and 33 not out. Additionally, among all-rounders, she has moved up one position to third.
Danni Wyatt of England moved up three spots to position 14 in the T20I rankings, and Ellyse Perry, an all-around player from Australia, moved up six spots to position 25.
Fran Jonas, a New Zealand spinner, rose three spots to 16th place in the bowling rankings, and Udeshika Prabodhani, a Sri Lankan left-arm seamer, rose eight spots to 28th place. Lea Tuhuhu, a New Zealand pacer, moved up two spots to sixth place.
Thai opener Natthakan Chantham has moved up seven spots to 22nd after scores of 65 and 64, and captain Naruemol Chaiwi has moved up seven spots to 36th in the Women’s ODI Player Rankings, which were updated following the three-match series between the Netherlands and Thailand in Amstelveen, which ended 1-1 with one match being abandoned without a ball being bowled.
After taking five wickets in two games, Dutch seam bowler Iris Zwilling has climbed eight spots to rank 41.
