After India’s historic ICC T20 World Cup victory in Barbados, cricket player Suryakumar Yadav received a jubilant greeting at his Mumbai home.
The touching return home was a perfect cap to an incredible trip that saw India win its first trophy in the Indian Cricket League in thirteen years.
The triumphant return of the Indian cricket team to their homeland started when they arrived in Delhi, where they were welcomed by jubilant supporters and had a meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thousands of fervent spectators watched an open-top bus parade from Marine Drive to Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai as the festivities continued.
When SKY arrived home, his family welcomed him with open arms. Following Indian customs, his mother gave him a garland as a welcome and did an aarti, applying a tikka to his forehead. Due to the family’s arrangement of dhol artists, a joyous ambiance was created, leading to Suryakumar and his spouse Devisha Shetty dancing and proudly showing off their well-deserved award.
