Suryakumar Yadav, the captain of India’s Twenty20 team, visited the iconic Yankee Stadium in the Bronx on Saturday, August 10, when he was given a Yankees pinstripe jersey emblazoned with his name and the number 63 that he wears on his t-shirt.
Upon entering the legendary venue, the flashy batter was enthralled. Major League Baseball’s New York Yankees presented Suryakumar with an award. While there, he took a tour of the stadium, underscoring both the camaraderie between baseball and cricket as well as his rising stardom on the global stage.

During their successful T20 World Cup 2024 campaign, the Men in Blue played three games at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York, leaving Indian cricket fans with happy memories of the city. At the makeshift cricket stadium, Rohit Sharma and company defeated Pakistan in addition to victories over Ireland and the United States.
Playing all three formats for India is Suryakumar Yadav’s goal.
Surykumar recently declared his intention to compete in all three versions of the game for India. Being ranked second among batsmen in the T20I format speaks volumes about his credentials. But in ODI cricket, he was unable to live up to his potential, and he has only played one Test match.
In all three formats, I would like to represent India. I’ll be getting fantastic practise for the red-ball tournaments this season playing in Buchi Babu,” Suryakumar told Times of India.
With an average of 42.67 and a strike rate of 168.65, the 33-year-old has amassed 2,432 runs in 71 T20Is. Suryakumar, meanwhile, has only scored 773 runs at an average of 25.77 and a strike rate of 105.03 in 37 One-Day Internationals.

After Rohit’s retirement from the format following the T20 World Cup in June, the Mumbai batsman was named India’s T20 captain. Last month, India won a three-match Twenty20 International series against Sri Lanka, and Suryakumar made a fantastic debut in his new position.
