Suryakumar Yadav had been out for a period of time due to his injuries. Although the process of recovering after an injury or physical strain is challenging for athletes, some find comfort and relief in engaging in the activity itself. Suryakumar Yadav is no exception, as he has revealed that watching the Mumbai Indians games helped him maintain his rhythm.
Suryakumar Yadav returned to the Indian Premier League in 2024, playing against Delhi Capitals last week.
The Mumbai batsman had an unmemorable performance as he returned to the pavilion without scoring any runs. The last time he had stepped onto the pitch was during the T20I match against South Africa in January. He later skipped One Day Internationals against the Proteas because of a sports hernia. SKY, affectionately known as such, said that maintaining a positive outlook was important in his ability to surmount the challenges posed by his injuries.
Therefore, I began prioritizing the completion of lesser tasks such as maintaining a regular sleep schedule and adhering to a nutritious diet. I have never engaged in reading literature before, but I have recently begun to do so. By waking up in the morning and dedicating substantial time to the rehabilitation center, I was able to establish a strong connection between my body, brain, and the rehabilitation process. This concerted effort greatly facilitated my recovery, resulting in a slightly accelerated healing process. “Due to experiencing multiple minor issues simultaneously, I had to approach them sequentially,” stated Suryakumar Yadav in a video addressed to the IPL.
It is always challenging when you are unable to watch your team play and have to sit in a room observing. I must admit that I did watch some of the games, since I managed to catch around half of them. However, due to my regular sleeping schedule in Bangalore, I would usually be asleep by around 10.30-10.45. Previously, I would just watch half of the innings during a game, but I would then watch the entire game in the highlights the following day. Although it was challenging, observing others playing there provided me with significant motivation and inspiration. Consequently, I am compelled to exert considerable effort towards my personal growth, rehabilitation, and expeditious return to the field,” he expressed.
Mumbai Indians will want to secure two points against the faltering Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Mumbai Indians commenced their IPL 2024 campaign with a disheartening start. They had suffered three consecutive losses before overcoming the DC scare and achieving their first victory. The next match for the team will be against Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. The five-time winners will attempt to capitalize on the poor performance of RCB and secure the important two points.
