On January 9, at St. Geoege’s Park, the third SA20 tournament will begin with a matchup between MI Cape Town and the reigning champion Sunrisers Eastern Cape. The championship final is set to take place at Johannesburg’s renowned Wanderers Stadium on February 8. Graeme Smith, the commissioner of the SA20 league, has revealed that this season’s playoffs will take place in three different locations, with Gqeberha and Centurion serving as the host cities.
On January 11, following the curtain-raiser, Durban’s Super Giants, the runners-up from the previous season, will play the Pretoria Capitals at Kingsmead. The following Sunday will feature a thrilling match between the Joburg Super Kings and their bitter rivals MI Cape Town.

The playoff format, meanwhile, is unchanged from the second season: the top two teams advance to the first round of the playoffs, while the third and fourth-place teams compete in the Eliminator. This means that four teams will make it to the postseason. The loser of Qualifier 1 will face the victor of the Eliminator, with a spot in the final up for grabs.
With the participation of several international stars, like Kane Williamson, Ben Stokes, and Dinesh Karthik among others, League Commissioner Smith was ecstatic to announce the next edition, which he expects to be more larger and better in 2025.
