Gautam Gambhir, a former batter for India, was named the country’s head coach by the BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) recently. Gambhir, who takes over from Rahul Dravid in the post, would have extremely large shoes to fill. The forthcoming white-ball tour of Sri Lanka by India will be the former batter’s first assignment.
Gautam Gambhir and Ajit Agarkar participated in a press conference prior to the commencement of the series. When questioned about the significance of workload management, the 42-year-old gave the instances of Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma, and Virat Kohli, who are all known to skip games in order to manage their workloads.
Speaking on the same topic, Gambhir stated that pacers in the side like Jasprit Bumrah and others need to limit their workload.
Though Rohit and Kohli have both withdrawn from T20Is, Gambhir anticipates that both batsmen will be available for the most of India’s assignments.
“As I’ve mentioned previously, workload management is crucial for individuals such as Jasprit Bumrah. He is a unique bowler that everyone would be interested in. It’s crucial that he participate in games. Because of this, managing one’s workload is crucial for fast bowlers like him as well, as Gambhir stated at the press conference.

As a batter, you might as well participate in every format if you are hitting well. Since Rohit and Virat are no longer playing T20Is, they will now play in two different forms. I hope they work for the majority of the games,” he continued.
