The ICC Women’s Championship 2022-2025 cycle will include a three-match ODI series between New Zealand and Sri Lanka. The traveling team is currently third in the points table, while Chamari Athapaththu‘s team is seventh. Sri Lanka has a great chance to move up to second place if they sweep the tourists in this match.
After the ODI series is over, the two teams will play a T20I series, which is set to start on July 8.
When it comes to the ODI series, all three games will be held at Galle International Cricket Stadium. On the other hand, all three T20Is will be held at P. Sara Oval in Colombo. Notably, the ODI series will be a great way for the home team to get closer to the final goal.
Chamari Athapaththu, the captain of Sri Lanka, moved up to number 10 on the list of best T20I players.
Chamari Athapaththu, the captain of Sri Lanka, went up to number nine in the ICC women’s T20I player rankings. This is because she has been so consistent in the shortest version of the game. Athapaththu scored 103 runs in three games during the home series against Bangladesh. This helped her team win the series, which they did by a score of 2-1.
Harshitha Samarawickrama, who played on the same team, also moved up a lot in the rankings thanks to her series-high 125 runs in the three games against Bangladesh. It helped her move up 12 spots on the hitting list, giving her a career-high score of 27th place.
In the T20I series, Onoka Ranaweera’s left-arm spin helped Inoka Ranaweera move up five spots in the rankings.
