The 17-man ODI and T20I teams for the forthcoming New Zealand series were recently announced by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC). Notably, there will be three ODI matches and two T20Is between the Lankan Lions and New Zealand.
On November 9, the series will begin, with Charith Asalanka leading the island nation against the BlackCaps. Some recalls have also been made, and the squad has undergone some alterations. A return to the squad has been made for Kusal Perera. It’s important to remember that he played in the ODI World Cup 2023 for the final time.
Bhanuka Rajapaksha will once again play in the series, while Dushmantha Chameera will also be absent. Besides, Dasun Shanaka was left off of the team that would play New Zealand. Notably, Shanaka did not play in the most recent series, which was also contested at home against the West Indies.
The goal of the White Ball Series is for New Zealand to do well.
When they go to Sri Lanka for the next white-ball tour, New Zealand will be hoping to play well. The first two Twenty20 Internationals are set for November 9 and 10 in Dambulla, where the two teams will square off. In addition, the ODI matches are scheduled for November 13, 17, and 19, respectively, in Dambulla and Pallekele.
