SRH captain Pat Cummins: “Abhishek Sharma is scary; I wouldn’t want to bowl against him.”

Abhishek Sharma, a left-hander for Sunrisers Hyderabad, is having a tremendous season with the bat. The IPL 2024 is currently in progress. In just 13 games, the youthful opener has amassed 467 runs at an astounding strike rate of 209.41 and an average of 38.91.

SRH’s outstanding performance, which saw them place second in the league stage with eight victories from 14 games, was largely due to his batting. Captain Pat Cummins praised Abhishek’s batting prowess following SRH’s significant victory over the Punjab Kings (PBKS) on May 19. Chasing 215 balls, Abhishek hammered 66 off of just 28 balls to give the home team a comfortable four-wicket victory.

Notably, the batting order for SRH has been playing exceptionally well. Abdul Samad, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Sharma have been putting on continuously outstanding performances.

He is frightening. Nitish is a top-tier player who exudes maturity far above his years of experience. Feeling content. It is my first time playing in the finals. Playing some very nice cricket and looking forward to the future,” Cummins remarked during the match’s post-mortem.

Cummins commented, “It’s pretty cool; it’s awesome,” in reference to SRH’s fantastic marketing. It’s been fantastic; we’ve won six of the last seven here. I didn’t know many guys going into the season, but we’ve had a great time and played some fantastic cricket.”

With 467 runs already under his belt, Abhishek Sharma will be essential to SRH’s chances of winning the pennant. On May 21, they play Qualifier 1 in Ahmedabad against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), and Abhishek’s performance at the bat might make all the difference.
