Sourav Ganguly, the former captain of India, has come out in support of Rohit and Virat. He says that the two experienced players will have important parts to play in the ICC events that happen every year. After India’s tough 209-run loss to Australia in the World Test Championship final, fans and experts have talked about and analysed how India’s experienced players affected the game. Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two of the best batsmen in India today, didn’t do much in the WTC final. In the two innings, Rohit scored 15 and 43, while Kohli scored 14 and 49. Some cricket fans aren’t happy with how well these two veterans have played, especially in ICC knockouts.
“Last time, first time doesn’t mean much to me. I think that shows are important. I think they are 34 or 35, and I have no idea what will happen in the next World Cup. Every year, there are both T20 and 50-over world championships. We used to have one every four years, but that changed when the Champions Trophy came along. So it’s all about results, and I’m sure Rohit, as captain, and Virat will want to make it a big one, not for themselves but to help their team win.
Sourav Ganguly told Star Sports, “I think that’s the biggest.”
Rohit Sharma says that it will be great to play in the World Cup at home.
In the next ODI World Cup, India will play nine league games in nine different places. The two-time winners will start their season on October 8 in Chennai, where they will play Australia. In a statement made by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Rohit Sharma, who will lead the team in the 10-team tournament, said that this year’s World Cup will be more competitive.
“Playing in the World Cup at home will be a great experience. India won here 12 years ago, and I’m sure fans all over the country can’t wait for us to play this time. This World Cup will be very tough because the game has gotten faster and the teams are playing better than ever. All of this is good news for fans all over the world, giving them hope for many exciting times.
In a statement made by BCCI, Rohit said, “We are looking forward to preparing well and being at our best in October and November.””
