“Smriti Mandhana should get at least one 50.” – Aakash Chopra talks before RCB’s last WPL 2023 game

"Smriti Mandhana should get at least one 50." - Aakash Chopra talks before RCB's last WPL 2023 game

The next-to-last league stage game of the 2023 Women’s Premier League will be between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) (WPL). On Tuesday, March 21, the game will take place at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. At the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on the same day, UP Warriorz will play Delhi Capitals.

Aakash Chopra, a former opener for India, hopes that RCB captain Smriti Mandhana will live up to her reputation in the team’s last WPL match. He also thinks that India vice-captain Mithali Raj should score her first fifty in the match against MI. In the seven games that RCB has played so far, the 26-year-old has only scored 125 runs.

“Sophie Devine is hitting the ball very well. Smriti Mandhana should get at least one 50, which hasn’t happened yet. Hayley Matthews will be in front of her again, but it will be good if she gets runs,” Chopra said on JioCinema’s “AakashVani” show while talking about the RCB vs. MI match.
The 45-year-old pointed out that RCB has two of the best run-getters (opener Sophie Devine and all-rounder Ellyse Perry), but the team is not successful because the bowlers don’t do well. In this tournament, no RCB bowler has taken more than five wickets.

“There, Ellyse Perry has gotten runs. In fact, Sophie Devine and Ellyse Perry are two of the top five run-scorers, but their team didn’t get very far because they didn’t take any wickets,” Chopra said.

“There are many good things about coming in first.” Aakash Chopra wants MI to come in first.
Aakash Chopra wants Mumbai Indians to beat RCB and end the WPL season with the most points. Harmanpreet and his team, who are already in the playoffs because they won five games in a row, will be playing after losing their last two games. The team dropped to second place in the points table after losing two games in a row.
“Mumbai needs a win because you have lost the last two games in a row. It would be better if you won by a big margin so you could ask Delhi to win by an even bigger margin in the last game. Chopra said, “There are a lot of good things about coming in first.”

“Any way you look at it, you don’t want to lose three games in a row before the playoffs or the elimination game. To avoid that, you will have to play better cricket, which you haven’t done in the last two games. Still, it’s a great team, so I think they’ll do well,” he said as he wrapped up.
