Following their excellent performances over the last week, Mushfiqur Rahim and Mohammad Rizwan have achieved career-best places in the ICC Men’s Test Batting Rankings, while England batsman Harry Brook has risen to fourth place.
Brook moved up three spots to fourth place in the opening match of their ICC World Test Championship series against Sri Lanka in Manchester, thanks to his scores of 56 and 32.
He is now only one spot behind his career-best third position, which he achieved after his second-inning century against the West Indies at Trent Bridge last month.
Mushfiq, a batter from Bangladesh, moved up seven spots to a career-best equalling 17th rank after his match-winning 191 in the first Test of the WTC series against Pakistan at Rawalpindi. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Rizwan made his debut appearance in the top 10 with scores of 171 not out and 51.
The hitters from Sri Lanka, Dinesh Chandimal (up four spots to 23rd) and Kamindu Mendis (up eight places to 36th), Liton Das (up two spots to 27th) from Bangladesh, and Jamie Smith (up 22 spots to 42nd) from England are among those who have climbed the Test rankings.
After taking three wickets in each of the two innings against Sri Lanka, England’s Chris Woakes moved up four spots to 16th in the Test bowling rankings, while Asitha Fernando moved up ten spots to 17th after taking six wickets overall in the match.
Naseem Shah, a fast bowler from Pakistan, moved up four spots to 33rd in the bowling rankings. Gus Atkinson, an English new-ball bowler, moved up four spots to 42nd, and Matthew Potts moved up five spots to 57th.
Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies, who defeated South Africa 3-0 in Trinidad, has risen into the top 10 of the Men’s T20I Player Rankings with scores of 65 not out, 19 and 35. Reeza Hendricks of South Africa is another one who has improved, rising to 13th place.

After collecting four wickets in three matches, West Indies left-arm spinner Akeal Hosein has risen four spots to second place in the bowling rankings. After climbing ten spots, Romario Shepherd is now in 31st place, and Gudakesh Motie, another squad member who spins left-arm, is only one spot behind Hosein.
