“I believe it’s because his (Rohit’s) targeted areas are somewhat distinct from mine. He likes going aerial during the powerplay, whereas I prefer to look for openings and keep securing boundaries, and he enjoys making sixes. So, in my opinion, such a combination is effective. The International Cricket Council quoted Shubman as saying, “It feels amazing to be able to open with him, especially knowing that all the attention is on him.
“He likes the other batters to go and just express himself and play the game the way I want to play it,” the pitcher said. As a result, he offers the players complete freedom to express themselves in their game.
The Indian team is currently taking part in a three-match T20I series in Ireland. However, the majority of the backup players were sent on that tour. At the Asia Cup, which starts on August 30, players like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will compete.
On September 2, Rohit’s team will play their first game against Pakistan in Pallekele.
