At the Rajasthan Royals (RR) Second Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) match against the Delhi Capitals on Thursday, March 28 at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Riyan Parag was in commanding form. The 22-year-old helped RR overcome a dire predicament of 36/3 after 7.2 overs with a brilliant innings of 84* (45), which included seven fours and six massive sixes.
Parag hit DC bowlers all over the pitch during his knock, showcasing his diverse range of strokes. Everyone gasped as he played a superb lofted extra cover drive against Anrich Nortje’s relentless pace on one of his shots. Commentator Sanjay Manjrekar praised the shot as well, praising him for his amazing strokeplay.

RR posted a respectable total of 185/5 in their allocated 20 overs thanks in large part to Parag’s 25-run innings off the final over against Nortje. The Assam batsman had a tonne of runs in domestic cricket going into the season.

With five hundred runs from ten innings at an average of eighty-five and a strike rate of eighty-two, including seven fifty-score innings, Parag was victorious in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2023.
In the Ranji Trophy 2024, Riyan Parag was Assam’s second-highest run scorer.
In addition, he had an outstanding season in the Ranji Trophy 2024, placing second for Assam in terms of runs scored with 378 runs from six innings at an average of 75.6 and a strike rate of 113.82, including two hundreds and one fifty.
In the inaugural match against the Lucknow Super Giants, Parag scored an incredible 43 (29) to start his IPL career off to a strong start. With his third IPL half-century and his highest score of 84* (45) in the second game, the 22-year-old showed how much better he could get. With two games left in the season, Parag will be keen to maintain his form and help RR earn a postseason berth.
