On September 23, in a Dr HD Kanga Cricket League Division E encounter against Jolly Cricketers, left-arm spinner Shoaib Khan of Gaud Saraswat CC took ten wickets. In addition to accomplishing the uncommon accomplishment, he received 10,000 Rupees for his outstanding performance. On the trot at the Government Law College ground, he bowled 17.4 overs.
Because of his performance, Gaud Saraswat CC beat Jolly Cricketers in a match that Shoaib had turned into a one-sided contest. The cricket player rode almost fifty kilometres from his hometown to the Division E match. He disclosed that he was taken aback by club owner Ravi Mandrekar’s faith in him and that he had no idea he would take 10 wickets.
“I just wanted to give it my all this [Sunday] morning when I left Bhiwandi. Even at lunch, I wasn’t considering an all-out 10 after grabbing seven wickets. However, I was shoved by our club’s owner, Ravi Mandrekar sir, who told me I might have the final three wickets. Just concentrate and make a move. I then gave it some thought, bowled in the appropriate spots, and managed to get all ten. For my greatest work, he also awarded me 10,000 Indian rupees. I’ll give it to my parents because that’s a significant sum of money for me,” Shoaib said to Mid-Day.
I must express gratitude to the other bowlers: Shoaib Khan
Jolly was bowled out by Gaud Saraswat for a mere 67 runs in the opening session, and the former declared their innings over at 69 after six wickets fell. Jolly’s second innings saw them score just 36 runs. Not only is Shoaib’s 10-wicket haul astounding, but ten years prior, in a “C” level match, he had collected a seven-wicket haul for Islam Gymkhana.
“That performance was also a factor in our victory. I was thrilled by today’s [Sunday] performance in a different way because we all know that Anil Kumble, the great spinner for [India], had claimed ten wickets in a 1999 Test match in New Delhi against Pakistan.

I have to give credit to my other bowlers, who also applied pressure to the batters and bowled a tight length, which enabled me to get wickets at the other end,” he continued.
