The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) notified the International Cricket Council (ICC) that the Men in Blue would not be traveling to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy next year, but there has been no update on the confirmation of the host location. India’s matches would be played at a neutral location, such as the United Arab Emirates, as part of a hybrid tournament model that the ICC then asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) if they would be interested in hosting. PCB head Mohsin Naqvi, however, is refusing to make any concessions and is adamant about hosting the entire event in Pakistan.
Shoaib Akhtar, a former bowler for Pakistan, has offered an intriguing perspective on the main event, which has come to a standstill.
In Pakistan, the renowned Virat Kohli is willing to play, according to the cricketer-turned-expert. Talks will take place behind closed doors. Even during times of war, backchannel conversations occur. We must never give up. There must be a remedy in sight. We are aware that 95–96% of ICC’s sponsorship originates in India,” Shoaib Akhtar stated in an interview that was cited by NDTV Sports.
It truly depends on the governments. The BCCI is unrelated to it. Virat Kohli is making his first attempt to play in Pakistan. Pakistan is interested in hosting Virat’s game. In Pakistan, picture him hitting a century. For him, everything will come full circle. It has been said that Pakistan is unable to host major competitions such as the World Cup. The Champions Trophy will serve as a springboard for further significant occasions if it is awarded. I don’t believe this will occur. Keeping my fingers crossed. Hold off till the very last second. He went on, “I believe that India is currently visiting Pakistan.”
