Aakash Chopra, a cricket analyst, praised Shivam Dube for his outstanding all-around performance in India’s first Twenty20 international match triumph over Afghanistan.
Dube’s outstanding performance has generated talk about his possible inclusion in India’s T20 World Cup squad because he has contributed with the bat and the ball.

Dube’s road has been difficult; he was included in the Indian side for the T20I series against Australia following the ODI World Cup in 2023, but he did not play. Dube returned strongly for the current series against Afghanistan, grasping the chance after being left out of the South Africa tour. Dube’s batting maturity and ability to finish the game particularly pleased Chopra.
“He played with remarkable maturity when batting, even though he had already taken a wicket with the ball. He brought the game to a close. That’s a crucial one, in my opinion, to finish the game, Chopra remarked.

Chopra went on to say that since Dube can bowl as well, he ought to be given chances. If Hardik Pandya is unable to perform or is unavailable for any reason, the all-rounder can step in, according to his statement.
