On August 24, Indian cricket player Shikhar Dhawan posted on social media to announce his retirement from both domestic and international cricket. The 38-year-old has made a name for himself as one of the greatest openers of the past ten years and is a tremendous inspiration for openers everywhere. Dhawan established himself as a mainstay in the Indian squad ever since his outstanding exploits in the 2013 Champions Trophy.
Before losing his spot to younger players like Shubman Gill and Ishan Kishan, he participated in his final international match in 2022. Shortly after declaring his retirement, Dhawan was questioned concerning the possibility of a biopic being filmed on his life. Speaking on the same subject, the southpaw said he would adore having a movie written about his life. He also mentioned Ranveer Singh and Akshay Kumar as possible actors who may portray him.
“If it’s made well, I would adore it.” If I could contribute something worthwhile to the movie, I would be happy to act in it. Regarding other performers, Dhawan told Hindustan Times, “I would love for Akshay paaji (Akshay Kumar) to do it, or even Ranveer Singh, because of his sheer energy.”

“Why would giving up cricket make me less famous? Who knows, maybe not only the fame will grow. First logon, then basa hua hoon ke dilon mein. Not just through cricket, but occasionally even through my clips on Instagram (laughs). I have no doubt that people’s adoration for me would only increase,” Dhawan remarked.
